CubicMath

Work out exactly how much material you need.

CubicMath is a set of free material calculators built on one rule: use measured, published densities, never guesses. Area × depth × real density — so the quantity you order is the quantity the job needs.

The reasoning behind the numbers — how the materials behave, what the trade figures mean, and the traps that make orders come up short.

Why trust these numbers?

Most material calculators online use a single made-up density for everything. Ours cite their sources: hot mix asphalt at 142–148 lb/ft³ per the Asphalt Institute, crushed stone at 2,850–3,700 lb per cubic yard per the Washington State DOT design manual, and so on. Every figure is published with its source quoted on thematerial density reference — see theabout pagefor how we work.
